I'm still plugging away at tutorials and practicing with nodes in the compositor.
Note to self: enlarge hat so hair dose not clip though -_-*
I finally got a setup for coloring and shading that I think works for me. It's actually a stupid simple node setup that uses only diffuse with a color ramp.
I was spending all day on making her eyes in the compositor and I feel a lot more comfortable using it. I used the shrink wrap modifier last time on the other model to keep the texture to the eye base, and it was ok, but it made for some really not so good looking deforms up close. So my challenge for the past week was to find a way to get the texture on the eye base with no texture deforms while still maintaining control over the pupil movement for animation purposes, on eyes that are obviously not so round.
Thankfully I found a tutorial that gave me the needed insight to devise a way to do the above. To make it short I found a way to project the texture onto the eye base. So far there seems to be no problems with this setup.
I still have lots to do and learn, but I've had a good deal of focus these last weeks. Progress may be slow but at least it's steady.
